WALK-IN WEDNESDAYS
Wednesdays in May, 12:00 noon, Free admission

Have an hour? Walk in! Every Wednesday at noon join us for a short lunchtime program and a lively discussion of contemporary art and ideas. Meet artists, curators, and other experts in the field as we delve into a variety of topics ranging from globalism and cosmopolitanism to Jungian psychology and dream interpretation. The possibilities are endless.

May's schedule includes:

May 14
Chief Curator Anthony Huberman
Chat with Chief Curator Anthony Huberman about the current exhibition and learn about the importance that John Armleder and Olivier Mosset play in the world of contemporary art.

May 21
Assistant Curator Laura Fried
On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the Contemporary will host a series of double feature films that center on May 1968, a critical moment in history when the cultural and political reverberations were felt across the globe. On May 21, Assistant Curator Laura Fried will provide historical insight into this pivotal year and its special relationship to the art of filmmaking. In conjunction with the Main Galleries exhibition, her discussion will also pay special attention to the involvement of John Armleder and Olivier Mosset as artists engaged with this important period of cultural and social upheaval.

May 28
Fluxus and its Origins
Bradley Bailey, Assistant Professor of Art History at Saint Louis University, takes a look at how and why Fluxus came about and the impact it had on contemporary art.

Come early and enjoy lunch at the Tempt Café or grab something to take with you. No reservations are required. Check out our calendar for the current schedule, or just walk in.
