Teen Museum Studies

The Teen Museum Studies program is designed for high school students interested in exploring career paths in the museum field. Through workshops, lectures, and staff interviews, students in the program will examine the Contemporary’s directorial, curatorial, programming, fund-raising, and marketing efforts. The program provides students with the opportunity to put their new museum studies knowledge to the test as they ultimately organize, curate, and oversee their own temporary exhibition.

The Teen Museum Studies program meets for six Thursday and six Friday sessions in June and July, from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, at the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, located at
3750 Washington Blvd., St. Louis, Mo., 63108.

Students are encouraged to apply regardless of their experience in the arts, as the program aims to help introduce students to non-art museum careers as well. The Teen Museum Studies program is scholarship-based and has space for 12 dedicated participants. If accepted, each student must make a commitment to consistently attend all sessions.
