Dexter Sinister (co-operators): ongoing
Dexter Sinister is the compound name of David Reinfurt and Stuart Bailey. Recently described as “pamphleteers,” the American-British duo established a Just-in-Time workshop and Occasional Bookstore in a Lower East Side basement in New York City in 2006. They have since been joined by Sarah Crowner. Working on-demand, utilizing local cheap machinery, considering alternate distribution strategies, and collapsing distinctions of editing, design, production and distribution into one efficient activity, Dexter Sinister folds form into content and re-invents the rules of publishing and dispersion. In an ongoing co-operation with the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, and alongside the institution’s own marketing activities, Dexter Sinister circulates “information” on behalf of the museum, in an experimental distribution scheme that will take new and various forms every two months.
