9.6.2007: Maya Lin Lecture: Between Art and Architecture

Join us for a free public lecture by Maya Lin presented by the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts in collaboration with the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis.
As part of Washington University's Assembly Series and the Contemporary's Susan Sherman Distinguished Speaker Series, this lecture is free and open to the public. Seating at Graham Chapel has been fully reserved. However, Washington University is offereing a live simulcast location in addition to the lecture seating.
The simulcast will be at Lab Sciences 300, located in the Arts & Sciences Laboratory building (just north of Graham Chapel). The university's campus map is available online.

In an effort to support the young, talented, high school artists in the St. Louis area, the Contemporary Art Museum and the Millstone Gallery at COCA joined together to organize this exhibition. Ten area schools and sixteen artists are represented in this exhibit featuring drawing, painting, photography, mixed media installation.

9.29.2007: Grand Center Arts Walk
1:00-4:00 pm, Free admissionGrand Center presents the Opening of the Arts Season: Dancing in the Street and Off the Wall with free arts events throughout the day from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.
The Contemporary is proud to join other arts organizations in our neighborhood to kick off the fall arts season with a day-long, district-wide festival. Fifty dance companies will take to four outdoor dance stages and the world-renowned Project Bandaloop will perform aerial dance/gymnastics acts literally down the face of the Continental Life Building. Enjoy a gallery walk from 1:00–4:00 pm through the Contemporary and the many other visual arts organizations in Grand Center, before enjoying the evening’s dance festivities.
